Simple Christmas Music Programs for Pre-K & Kinder

As a music teacher, I am tasked every year with creating a Winter program for my students. I’ve found that it’s challenging to find songs for Pre-K & Kindergarten that are not too lengthy or wordy. Over the years, my students and I have finally found success with these simple and fun Christmas programs!

1) “Jingle Bells” Themed Program

This is a great program idea if you’d like OPTIMAL student participation! All you need is some jingle bells for your kiddos and you’re ready for a spirited program!

I purchased these Jingle Bells for my students:

2) Narwhal-Themed Christmas Program

Tis’ the SEAson for an under the sea program! My students always love singing songs about the magical, not-so-mythical Narwhal located in the Arctic ocean. You can even have an entire Narwhal unit in your classroom! I love reading “Not Quite Narwhal” and then crafting our own Narwhal Tusk Hats to wear at the program.

3) Reindeer-Themed Christmas Program:

I absolutely love singing “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer” and watching the Movie during the holiday season. But I’ve found that it’s just too wordy to teach my Pre-K & Kindergartners. So here are some fun alternatives for our younger kiddos:

And no matter which program I choose, I love adding a sing-along portion at the end so that parents can sing along as well.

We hope you are enjoying this holiday season and found some helpful tips in this blog post. Hang in there, teachers! : )
